ePOWER SYSTEMS… providing environmentally sensitive mobility products and devices based on user needs analysis, accompanied by training and customer support systems.
Rapid technological changes occurring in the energy and environmental fields along with the increased demand for the integration of “new urbanism” with “smart” transportation planning and mobility services and systems has fostered the growth of a wide variety of alternative fuel source vehicles.
ePower has positioned itself to be the leading provider of environmentally sensitive mobility products and devices, with the ability to source and deliver “best of breed” technologies. The company has a number of emerging technologies that offer new solutions. These technologies offer the prospect of meeting tougher traffic or pollution mitigation requirements. The combination of advanced wireless networks, GPS positioning, very high efficiency electric motors and generators with advanced digital controls, sustainable hydrogen production and improving, cost effective, high performance fuel cells offer exciting new alternatives.
Our process:
- Customer user need analysis
- Specification development
- Vehicle system design
- System and product validation
- Manufacturing, sourcing, and JIT supply systems integration
- Marketing and distribution
- Comprehensive training and customer support systems
ePower is a technology enabler that works directly with users to establish and understand needs and then creates the links with OEM’s and suppliers to deliver these needs. The process starts with a careful understanding of the user requirements accomplished through the use of innovative ethnographic user research combined with carefully documented user drive histories. Through this comprehensive understanding of how vehicles are to be used and the needs of the users, clear specifications are formed for the development of superior vehicle design. These designs are then validated and collaboration takes places with manufacturers to determine modifications or to find ways to integrate the new systems with existing production systems. Because the technologies are new and may be unfamiliar, the company works directly with marketing and distribution. Finally, to ensure success, customer user training and support are provided.
ePower Systems key elements include:
OEM Liaison
ePower develops and delivers drive systems to OEM s that have been designed by ePower to meet the needs of eCommunities. The company works with OEM s to make advanced, eCommunity specific, versions of their existing product forms. For example, ePower Systems has worked with other companies to develop a hydrogen fuel cell powered version of the Hyster fork lift truck and the first ever hydrogen fuel cell powered ice resurfacer, the eP-ICEBEAR.
Supply Chain Management
ePower identifies appropriate partners along the supply chain to support the commercialization of certain components and vehicles that it will develop. For example, ePower is working with teams from other companies to develop an advanced electric hub-motor, mobile versions of fuel cells, and supply the power system for the eP-ICEBEAR.
Systems Development
ePower Systems will design and develop the membership schemes, vehicle sharing systems, and fueling systems that will be operated and managed by ePower Mobility. This includes software development and the design of proprietary infrastructure management systems.
Acquisitions and Joint Ventures
ePower will continue the process of acquisitions and joint ventures, which will result in the company becoming even more vertically integrated and increasing its ability to respond rapidly to the evolving needs of eCommunities.
