ePOWER MOBILITY… delivering multi-modal transportation systems to meet the needs of the future.
Much of the developed world is now experiencing a “perfect storm.” From the combined effects of increased housing costs, gas, and electric prices, longer commutes, congestion, air pollution, and growing concerns over imported oil. Local authorities find it difficult to build infrastructure that keeps pace with development and few people consider mass transit acceptable. Today many real estate developers cannot get approval for traditional suburban developments without new transportation and environmental solutions.
eCommunities, defined as sustainable communities that have embraced air and noise pollution reduction and energy efficient improvements, provide a solution to growing consumer demands and environmental legislation. The availability of cleaner engine technologies, hydrogen, fuel cells, and the development of increasingly sophisticated power system management systems have made this possible.
ePower is uniquely positioned to offer a full range of services for planning, supporting, and managing eCommunities. This includes:
Community Design Support
With the assistance of the eP-Foundation, ePower works with developers and/or community managers to design appropriate layouts, links with mass transit systems, and other transportation nodes.
Car Share Programs and Rentals
Many eCommunities will have a shared vehicle system. ePower Mobility supports membership systems through a full suite of services including: membership sales, reservations, vehicle dispatch, vehicle recovery, and security. The company develops rental systems so that appropriate vehicles are available to members of and visitors to eCommunities. For example, visitors to park recreations sites managed by ePower will be able to rent an electric vehicle at the site, avoiding the need to tow their personal vehicle behind their RV.
Vehicle Sales and Leasing
ePower arranges for the sale of vehicles to eCommunity managers and members. For example, some master planned communities may include the option to buy a neighborhood electric vehicle with the purchase of a home.
Vehicle Service
ePower provides maintenance and support for all of the company s vehicles, including service contracts for sold and leased vehicles.
Vehicle Systems Management
Each vehicle will include onboard monitoring systems, GPS, and be a part of a wireless monitoring network. ePower is able to track the location and operability of the fleet, and provide emergency communications, concierge, and enhanced security services. For example, on military bases a secure system will be developed that will not only monitor the location of vehicles but also enable remote deactivation of vehicles that present a potential threat.
Infrastructure Management
ePower assists with the establishment of appropriate fueling systems. These may include battery charging stations, compressed natural gas, propane, and hydrogen fueling points. Some eCommunities may require fuel generation systems such as electrolyzers to make hydrogen.
